Hi there! My name is Rebecca, and I’m glad you’re here.
I believe that life is full of good things, and and this little website is where I celebrate some of my favorites with the world.
What started as a love of creating amazing food when I was a teenager has grown into a passion for sharing that food with others, whether it’s taking drool-worthy images or creating a recipe for something irresistible.
Growing up with an army of siblings (there were 10 of us), it was primarily my job to cook family meals. We ate an unbelievable amount of spaghetti. Then when I was about 20, I ended up on the catering crew for a film shoot in the Smoky Mountains (it’s a long story). And that is where I fell in love. Well, sort of... That’s where I met my future husband for the first time. The falling in love took a bit longer.
A few years later we got married and, after a three month honeymoon in France where I pretty much ate my bodyweight in croissants & baguettes each day, we ended up in Woodstock, GA where we live now with our two rambunctious little boys, Prentice & Quentin. Which means that by day I am a crime fighting, baby wrangling super mom, and by night and nap-times I am a passionate food blogger trying to save the world one recipe and beautiful picture at a time.
It’s true that the kitchen is my happy place and my family is my greatest treasure, but I will take any chance to stick my nose in a book, belt out a Broadway tune or opera aria, go kayaking with my boys, or pull out my watercolors and paint. The travel bug has bitten hard, so chances are that I’m daydreaming about the next traveling adventure to appease the never-quiet wanderlust.
I’m so glad you’re here- let’s be friends!
I’m a self-taught baker and most of my knowledge has come from the school of life and experience, the many cookbooks I’ve read like novels, and the hundreds cakes, cookies, and croissants that have occasionally (and spectacularly) flopped as I’ve experimented and grown.
I occasionally explore the world of cooking, but baking is my true love. While classic French pastries are the inspiration for much of my technique and style, I also believe that baking should be accessible, enjoyable, and something to be shared with those you love. Nothing makes me happier than my 3 year old asking to make cookies with me, so you’ll find a healthy mix of complex recipes that are an accomplishment to master as well as offerings that are simple decadence. My hope is that they will all bring joy.
